Notes
'Hedelfingen' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Hedelfingen') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun. Its upright-spreading, vase-shaped form blooms in early to late spring, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers. The cherries ripen late and are grown for fresh eating and cooking. This tree is not self-fertile, so plant a second cherry nearby for pollination.
Pairs well with Serviceberry, Blueberry, Ornamental onion, and Big bluestem.
