Notes
'Hei-Xuan-Feng' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Hei-Xuan-Feng') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The upright plant grows about 35 inches tall with many branches. Its bluish scarlet flowers have a black flare and a light fragrance. Strong stems hold the blooms above the large green leaves.
Pairs well with Toad lily, Indian grass, and Stargazer lily.
