Notes
'Helios' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Helios') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms in early to late spring and has fragrant flowers that attract bees. The blooms are ivory white inside and aureolin outside.
Pairs well with Carnaval De Nice tulip, Minuteman hosta, and Bowl of Beauty peony.
