Notes

'Helios' peony (Paeonia 'Helios') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Nassos Daphnis bred it, and it bears fragrant, double yellow blooms with red flares in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The stems are strong, and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Jackmanii clematis, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
