Notes

'Helmwige' peony (Paeonia 'Helmwige') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Michael Miely bred it, and its single, light pink flowers have yellow centers. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Little bluestem, and Carlton daffodil.
