Notes
'Hephestos' peony (Paeonia 'Hephestos') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The fragrant, double, dark red flowers open in spring and early summer on strong stems. Nassos Daphnis bred it.
Pairs well with Balloon flower, Blue fescue, and Mock orange.
