Notes

'Hercules' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hercules') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, loose, globular blooms are pale lilac rose and fade to milk white in late spring. Tall, compact stems stand erect, and the medium green leaves look good all season. H.A. Terry bred it.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Prairie dropseed, and Christmas fern.
