Notes
'Hiawatha' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hiawatha') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, dark red double blooms open late in spring on good stems above clean foliage. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it, and it grows about 35 inches tall.
Pairs well with Sedge, Ostrich fern, and Shrub rose.
