Notes

'High Water' peony (Paeonia 'High Water') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Butterflies visit the light purple blooms with dark flares from early to late spring. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with Bottlebrush buckeye, Lily, and Christmas fern.
