Notes

'Hong Jing' peony (Paeonia 'Hong Jing') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Late blooming double flowers open light cream-yellow with a soft rose edge. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The flowers are fragrant and face upward.

Pairs well with Bottlebrush buckeye, Greig's tulip, and Niobe clematis.
