Notes
'Hong Si Yu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Hong Si Yu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant red single flowers open in late spring on an upright plant. The slender, finely cut petals look like delicate threads, which gives the flower a feathery look.
Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Jacob’s ladder, and Hicksii yew.
