Notes

'Hot Cocoa' rose (Rosa 'Hot Cocoa') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and loamy or clay soil. The russet blooms have a fruity, spicy scent and can look orange red or smoky chocolate depending on weather and age. Bees visit the flowers. It grows 3 to 4 feet high and 5 feet wide, and yearly pruning keeps it narrower.

Pairs well with Sarah Bernhardt peony, The President clematis, and Garlic chives.
