'Humei' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Humei') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant blooms are rose-pink or light pink with silvery shading. Sir Abraham Hume introduced it in 1810. It grows about 24 to 35 inches tall.
Pairs well with Cat mint, Weigela, Pink Impression tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
