Notes
'Huo Lian Jin Gang' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Huo Lian Jin Gang') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, double flowers are dark pink with a purplish cast. Its spreading stems benefit from support. Jun Tao bred it, and the name alludes to its high tolerance to heat.
Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Prairie dropseed, and Picture tulip.
