'Hyacinth' astilbe (Astilbe rosea 'Hyacinth') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms a clump 24 to 36 inches tall and 12 to 24 inches wide. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Columbine, Giant cowslip, and Yarrow.
