Notes
Hybrid pitcher plant (Sarracenia excellens) is a perennial for rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and wet soil. It grows 18 to 24 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches, so give it a little room in the bed. Red flowers open in mid to late spring, and they add color before the season warms up.
Pairs well with Tussock sedge, Seaside goldenrod, and Ironweed.
