Notes
White trumpet pitcher plant (Sarracenia leucophylla) is a perennial for containers, specimen plantings, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It is a carnivorous plant with tall, hollow, trumpet-like leaves that have reddish-purple veins on a white background. Insects are drawn in by the colorful opening and the nectar, then fall into the collected water and are digested. Nodding, brownish-red flowers open in spring.
Pairs well with Venus fly trap, Golden club, and Prairie dropseed.
