Notes
'Ice Storm' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ice Storm') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears pure white single flowers in early to mid spring. Each bloom is 9 inches across and holds a large boss of stamens. Sir Peter Smithers bred it, and Pivoines Rivière introduced it in 1992.
Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Blue fescue, and Cinnamon fern.
