'Ima-murasaki' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ima-murasaki') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The name means New Purple, and it can reach about 53 inches tall and 73 inches wide. Wada bred it, so give it plenty of room to spread.
