Notes

'Ima-shojo' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ima-shojo') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. In early summer, it bears carmine-red blooms that add rich color to a border. You can also cut the stems for indoor arrangements. The Chugai Nursery introduced it in 1940.

Pairs well with The President clematis, Cinnamon fern, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
