Notes

'Imperial Crown' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Imperial Crown') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in early spring with large, semi-double purple-lavender flowers. Strong stems hold the big blooms well, and the foliage is rich and green. Roy G. Klehm bred it in 1998.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Pink Impression tulip, and Blue Arrow Rocky mountain juniper.
