Notes

'Imperial Parasol' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Imperial Parasol') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type blooms are pale orchid pink with white petaloids and red-edged carpels. Each stem carries 2-3 buds, and the flowers have no fragrance. Walter Marx bred it in 1979.

Pairs well with Ostrich fern, Sedge, and Winterberry.
