Notes

'Imperial Princess' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Imperial Princess') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Walter Marx bred it in 1978. The double, ball-shaped blooms are fragrant and rose-pink with lavender shading and lighter edges. Stems are strong, but they need support if you do not disbud the plant.

Pairs well with Blazing star, Sedge, and Blue sage.
