Notes

'Imperial Queen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Imperial Queen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Robert W. Wallace bred it. The plant stays small and compact, and its Japanese type flowers rise well above the foliage. The stems are rather weak, so you may want to give them support.

Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Anise hyssop, Royal fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
