Notes

'In The Mood' peony (Paeonia 'In The Mood') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant red semi-double flowers with a yellow center open on a low bush with self-supporting stems, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Don Hollingsworth bred it.

Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Pink Impression tulip, and Polish Spirit clematis.
