Notes

'Indian Red' peony (Paeonia 'Indian Red') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Mid red blooms with dark centers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Blue fescue, and Black Parrot tulip.
