Notes
'Innovation' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Innovation') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears red blooms that stand out in a sunny border and look good in a vase. Gilbert H. Wild & Son bred it in 1967. Its red flowers also make a bold color accent in a mixed planting.
Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Blanket flower, and Spanish bluebell.
