Notes
'Instant Karma' blue elderberry (Sambucus nigra 'Instant Karma') is a shrub for borders, specimens, hedges, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and reaches about 71 to 94 inches tall and wide. Fragrant flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies and birds. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Variegata giant dogwood, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
