Notes

'Irena Sendler' peony (Paeonia 'Irena Sendler') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Ruffled lilac lavender flowers with maroon flares open in early to late spring and reach about 6 inches wide. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Nelly Moser clematis, Lily, Sweet William, and Mock orange.
