Notes

'Irma' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Irma') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, globular pink blooms with violet shading and a few cream petals at the center open in late spring. The compact, upright plants bloom freely, and the flowers make good cut blooms. Jacques Calot bred it.

Pairs well with Ice plant, Queen of Night tulip, Cinnamon fern, and Smooth hydrangea.
