Notes

'Ironsides' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Ironsides') is a columnar tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. Bloom comes in early to late spring, and the flowers draw bees and butterflies. This cherry is grown for eating fresh. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second cherry nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Strawberry Sundae panicle hydrangea, Paul Scherer tulip, American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, and Red elderberry.
