Notes
'Strawberry Sundae' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Strawberry Sundae') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, cut flowers, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Large cone-shaped flowers open creamy white, then age to pink and strawberry red on burgundy stems. Bloom lasts all summer into fall, and the blooms are fragrant and dry well.
Pairs well with Obedient plant, Western sword fern, Big Daddy hosta, and Balsam fir.
