Notes
'Island Breeze' hosta (Hosta 'Island Breeze') is a perennial for borders, containers, shade gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. It forms a mound of variegated leaves about 12 inches tall and 28 inches wide, and its medium lavender flowers are fragrant. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Sweet woodruff, Variegatum Solomon's seal, and Jack Frost Siberian bugloss.
