Notes
'Jacoba' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jacoba') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, rose pink flowers open in late spring and have yellow staminodes that look like stamens. Many blooms are held well above the medium, spreading foliage, so they are easy to cut.
Pairs well with Spotted beebalm, Prairie dropseed, Christmas fern, and Black Hero tulip.
