Notes

'James Blanc' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'James Blanc') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, flat, rose-pink blooms with violet shading open in early summer and have deeply notched petals. Strong reddish green stems hold the flowers above dark green leaves. Crousse bred it in 1883.

Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Wild bergamot, and Sedge.
