Notes

Japanese crabapple (Malus floribunda) is a tree for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Red buds open to pale pink flowers that fade to white. The blooms are fragrant and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Once settled in, the tree tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Pickwick Dutch crocus, White Splendour Greek thimbleweed, and Perennial candytuft.
