Notes

Japanese grass sedge (Carex morrowii) is a grass for borders, containers, shade gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. It forms a slow-growing, evergreen clump of green and white leaves that reaches 12 to 18 inches tall. Brown flowers appear in spring and again in early summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Ostrich fern, and Bottlebrush buckeye.
