Notes

Japanese primrose (Primula japonica) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Japanese iris, and Siberian bugloss.
