Notes

Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis japonica) is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It bears fragrant yellow flowers in early to mid winter and into early spring. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Give it plenty of room, since it can reach 10 to 15 feet tall and wide.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Pink Lemonade blueberry, and Irish moss.
