Notes

'Diane' Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis intermedia 'Diane') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its fragrant red to copper-red flowers open in winter and early spring, and some may appear in autumn. Deer tend to pass it by. The leaves also turn color in fall.

Pairs well with Daffodil, Japanese forest grass, and Green Velvet buxus.
