Notes
'Jean Ericksen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jean Ericksen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The deep red Japanese type flowers open in early summer. Numerous side buds extend the bloom time, and the staminodes turn silver tipped as the flowers age.
Pairs well with Francee hosta, Queen of Night tulip, Ostrich fern, and Blue sage.
