Notes

'Jeannette' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Jeannette') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The rose-purple flowers open in early to late spring, and the lower ones are semi-double while the upper ones are single. The blooms are fragrant and bring in bees.

Pairs well with Pink Impression tulip, Minuteman hosta, and Prairie dropseed.
