Notes
'Jeffrey’s Crimson' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jeffrey’s Crimson') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers have a Japanese form with broad, rounded petals of deep crimson and a satiny finish. A compact mass of yellow stamens in the center gives each bloom a distinct look in the garden.
Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Switchgrass, Phantom panicle hydrangea, and Garlic chives.
