Notes

'Jewel of India' peony (Paeonia 'Jewel of India') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, brilliant red flowers are semi-double and sit on strong, straight stems up to 33 inches tall. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Royal Standard hosta, Switchgrass, and Queen of Night tulip.
