Notes

'Jewel' peony (Paeonia 'Jewel') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single red flowers have a slight fragrance and attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Lyman D. Glasscock bred this hybrid.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Royal Standard hosta, and Little bluestem.
