'Jinhua' tea plant (Camellia sinensis 'Jinhua') is a shrub for tea harvest, hedges, and foliage texture. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. Its small leaves create a fine texture. Pick only the top three young leaves from the branch tips during the warmer months. You can prune it to any size or use it in place of boxwood.
Pairs well with Shenandoah switchgrass and Elfin mother of thyme.
