Notes

'Riesenschirm' spotted joe-pye weed (Eutrochium maculatum 'Riesenschirm') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Its fragrant flowers attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows tall and erect at a rapid rate, so give it plenty of room.

Pairs well with Bee balm, Yakushima Dwarf eulalia, and Alpine aster.
