Joe Witt maple

Notes

'Joe Witt' maple (Acer tegmentosum 'Joe Witt') is a tree for specimen planting, shade, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun. Full sun can damage the bark, so give it some shelter. The bark shows white, silver, and green striations with red highlights that deepen over time. Young twigs start pure white, and the large leaves turn golden yellow in fall.

Pairs well with Western sword fern, Snowdrop, and Liverleaf.
