Notes

'John Whitis' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'John Whitis') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The light pink double flowers open in late spring and fade to near-white, and each bloom has an off-center pinkish blotch. The long stems make good cut flowers. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian squill, Ostrich fern, Little Beauty tulip, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
