Notes

'Josephine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Josephine') is a compact perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, dark pink flowers bloom from mid to late spring into early summer. The blooms are held well above the foliage, which makes them easy to cut. Kelway bred it.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, David garden phlox, and Prairie dropseed.
